Band

Yesterday evening we had band practice. I am now learning how to play the flute. Our tutor taught us how to breathe properly so that we do not faint during our performances. Although even following all of her tips we did feel slightly dizzy after a while. She also taught us how to properly hold our lips while playing to make a sound that does not sound like a dying cat!!! Today we practiced holding a flute correctly and tried playing the melody called 

Mary had a Little Lamb. It seemed pretty simple but as we were beginners and didn't know much about playing on a flute it was a slightly difficult task.

My Writing

This is a poem that I created as a yr 6 last year in primary school with a bit of improvement.

Sweet Nature

Lollipop trees

And minty leaves

With a yellow sweet up

In the blueberry sky

Easter eggs

And jelly duck legs

Scrumptiously waiting for me

Gummy worms wriggle around

Beneath the chocolate shaving dirt

Mmmm

The Beach
Waves crash against the shore. Gradually, the sun comes out of her slumber. Around me the rawness and the moisture of the night air slowly fades away as the morning heat of the summer sun embraces me tightly persuading us to remove our jerseys. A salty breeze floats by. Snow white seagulls circle around our heads like vultures squawking for breakfast. Streams of sunlight strike the waves creating an all round sparkle like a disco ball.  

This week at school we are starting testing. So far we have completed a Basic Facts Maths test, a PAT Maths test, and a PAT Reading test. There will be a lot more coming!!! I am surprisingly very happy to be doing all of these tests!
