Term 2 Week 5

Hi there!
This week there wasn't much happening. We had production practice yesterday and my group practiced our dancing and singing. We had two maths tests for fractions, decimals and percentages, and one for measurement. I read 'The Adventure of the Speckled Band' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, which is a pretty interesting story to be honest, a little bit too much description maybe but other than that it was good. Ugh, we had our HPV vaccinations today and honestly, it was painful, but mostly just irritating as it leaves your arm with a dull ache for the rest of the day :(
Also we had rock band practice and my band, Toxic Rose, sound pretty good so far, but definitely way more room for improvement.
Until next time,
BYE :D

Term 2 Week 4

Hi there! I'm back! So how have you been? Good? Great.
I've had a pretty good week so far. I found out I get to go to the Belmont Sports exchange which is exciting!!! Also we had our Production Overnight Stay last weekend. We practiced all day and were fed really good food
:) Trust me to say that :D
But really, although we had a lot of really tough rehearsals, and we were super tired by the end, we had heaps of fun with our friends!!! Our bedtime movie was Big Hero Six which was a really cute movie. Unfortunately I only managed to fall asleep at 11pm because I was still so hyped after the day's events, and the boys woke us all up at 6am by running around the ALC loudly! So I was still tired the next day. It was still fun though!!!

Term 2 Week 3

Last week, our school hosted a band camp, where students from two other schools who participate in groups such as band, choir and drum groups all came together with other students to learn a few pieces and perform them in front of an audience.

This camp was held over two days, Wed 29 - Thu 30 of March. On Wednesday, our excited music students awaited the arrival of the other two schools while setting up all the equipment for the event. All the students worked hard at their pieces from 10am-7:30pm on Wednesday and from 9am-4pm on Thursday. After the dress rehearsal on Thursday, we all had dinner in the hall (lasagne! YUM!) before the big concert. The concert began at 7pm and it was spectacular. Everybody performed exceptionally well.

I think our camp was a huge success and all the schools managed to mingle with one another, play together, and learn together.

Weekly Reflection

Week 7

This week I would like to write about the recent events at my school. On Monday afternoon, the Production Call Backs were due. Before that, we had our first auditions, and about 30 students from all that auditioned, were chosen to be main characters, and they would audition again in the call backs with the song "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" which would be sung in a duet with a boy (or girl considering we had a lot more girls than boys). We had a few days to practice our parts. So back to Monday, everybody who was chosen sang their duet, and everybody was nervous and shaking. There was so much tension in the room!!! Also, there was a lot of talent, which only worsened the nerves. After everybody sang, we got into groups of fours, fives and one group of three and we read from two scripts, acting as some characters, and today we found out our parts! Luckily, I managed to get the part I wanted!!! Princess!!!

Portrait Poem. -I AM

I am a musical nerd who enjoys tests.
I wonder how the world will end.
I hear music wherever I go.
I see the birds fly over the trees.
I want to experience the point of life before life itself disappears.
I am a musical nerd who enjoys tests.

I pretend that I can control the world with my thoughts.
I feel like I’m a white rose in a garden of red tulips.
I touch the sea just to see it spread out and surround my fingertips.
I worry that I will never be good enough.
I cry for all the broken souls in the world.
I am a musical nerd who enjoys tests.
I understand that beauty comes from within.
I say that appearance doesn’t matter as much as your soul does.
I dream of changing the world for the better.
I try to be above the average.
I hope that I can be the person who saves the world from anger and negativity.
I am a musical nerd who enjoys tests.

My Opinions on Animal Cruelty

If you hit a baby, or young child and hurt them badly, you can get arrested and put up for child abuse. So why is it when you purposely harm an animal, is it looked over? Technically, according to Darwin's theory, if we evolved from animals, then we are hurting our own kind. Dogs can get taken away in to animal control facilities for 'harming' a human, which is like their prison, and they will rot there until someone takes them, or they get put down. Although, maybe, just maybe, the human should have been the one put under arrest. A dog won't just attack you (unless it has rabies or something), but most of the time, the humans will provoke the dog to get aggressive by teasing them, hurting them, hurting someone the dog protects, and then, it really is the humans fault. I think that animal abuse, any type, should be treated the same as with babies and children. Animals were on this planet first, we are strutting on their land. The least we can do is stop hurting them.

My Weekly Learning Reflection

Week 5

So far, we haven't really done much learning this week. Our week has mostly consisted of tests and getting ready for camp (which is in two weeks time!!!). I have been doing maths where we had to work on understanding integers and adding and subtracting integers and positive numbers. Other than that it has just been tests and things like assemblies, P.E, Jump Jam ect.

Also this week our class had our production auditions where you read a script as though you were on stage and you sang to the judges.
